Plant Name: Bulbine frutescens

Plant Description: Bulbine is a rhizomatous plant with succulent leaves. It is native to South Africa.  This Fall and Winter bloomer likes full sun by the coast and partial shade in-land.  Bulbine is hardy to 10 degrees F.  This small stature plant is available in yellow or orange flower forms.  Bulbine will add a splash of color to the front of your perennial beds or tuck it in next to a boulder in the landscape to soften hard edges. Also, Bulbine works well near paths.  Bulbine is a cheerful and tough addition to the drought tolerant landscape.  Complimentary species include all other succulent and rock garden plants.
